Graphene-enhanced composites take the stage at ECCM22
The GIANCE project was represented at the 22nd European Conference on Composite Materials (ECCM22), held in Oslo, Norway, bringing the project’s research on sustainable and high-performance composite materials to one of Europe’s leading forums in the field.
ECCM22 brought together researchers, industry experts and innovators from across Europe to discuss the latest developments in composite materials and structures. The conference covered key topics such as sustainable and recyclable composites, advanced manufacturing, digitalisation and AI-driven materials design, process monitoring, repair and recycling technologies, multifunctional materials and hydrogen applications.
GIANCE was represented at the conference by project partners CROSSFIRE and Bax Innovation, providing an opportunity to engage with the wider European composites community and exchange knowledge on emerging technologies and applications.
As part of the conference programme, Gianluigi Creonti from CROSSFIRE presented the work “Graphene Reinforced Glass and Recycled Carbon Fabric Based, Mass Productive, Circular Recyclable Crosspreg®”. The presentation highlighted developments in recyclable graphene-enhanced composite materials and their potential to contribute to more circular and sustainable composite solutions.
Participation in ECCM22 offered GIANCE an important opportunity to share project developments, strengthen connections with the European composites ecosystem and increase the visibility of its work towards next-generation sustainable composite materials.
Through activities such as these, GIANCE continues to foster knowledge exchange between research and industry and contribute to the development and uptake of innovative graphene-enabled solutions.
