GIANCE Project Holds Successful Consortium Meeting in Crete

From April 9th to 10th, 2024, the consortium convened for a productive meeting in Heraklion, Crete, Greece.

The meeting took place at Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) premise, where partners gathered to discuss the project’s progress and future steps. With a focus on sustainability and innovation, the consortium engaged in fruitful discussions aimed at advancing the development of multifunctional materials to address pressing environmental challenges.

The agenda, meticulously crafted to maximize efficiency, featured presentations and updates from various work packages (WPs), providing insights into technical requirements, innovations in material development, life-cycle assessment, sustainable manufacturing technologies, industrial feasibility, and testing/validation processes.

The second day of the meeting featured a UCs Workshop, facilitating discussions on the development stages, needs, and plans for each Use Case (UC) within the project.

Additionally, participants had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the FORTH for a lab tour, further enriching their understanding of cutting-edge research and innovation in the field.

The meeting concluded with a social dinner providing partners with an opportunity for informal networking and collaboration.  Overall, the Heraklion meeting served as a testament to the commitment and collaborative spirit of the GIANCE consortium in advancing sustainable multifunctional materials to tackle environmental challenges.
